Mimi has carved out a dynamic career for herself, centred on her expert knowledge of landscaping, the natural world and construction. In recognition of her contribution to South African business, Mimi has achieved several accolades including being CEO Magazine’s Most Influential Woman in Business and Government. She has previously been recognised as a Regional Business Achiever in the entrepreneur category 2008, by the Business Women’s Association, and was a finalist in CEO Magazine’s Most Influential Woman in Business and Government within the manufacturing category in 2013.

Co-owning SmartStone Port Elizabeth since 1980 with her husband, the business has become the longest established cast stone manufacturer in South Africa, and with her team has worked on prominent commercial and residential interior and exterior design projects within the Eastern Cape.

Then in 2012 Mimi founded Stone etc., based on her love of all gems including minerals, crystals and quartz, succulents and hard landscaping.
